SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE FEED FAMILIES IN TIMES OF CRISIS
Loamcp Phils and SEAOIL Foundation are creating a way forward towards post-covid agriculture development.
Yesterday, we met with the League of Organic Agriculture Municipalities and Cities (LOAMC). This is an association of Local Chief Executives that promote Sustainable Agriculture in rural areas. During the meeting, we planned the re-engagement of the 7 LGU’s we trained in 2019. In this engagement, we have sharpened the alignment towards Food Security at the family farm level. Our team shared how our family farms became a resiliency tool during the covid pandemic. This was affirmed by Mayor Rommel Arnado as he also saw this in their areas. These LGU’s have already aligned their Family Farms within the local development plans. The purpose of the re-engagement is to be able to measure the impact of these family farms in food security and hunger mitigation.
